I was hired to update the current church card for Sword of the Spirit which is used to pass out in order to share their service times and other important information. The only design element they desired to keep was the concept of a sword for the church’s name. Additionally, all of the basic text was needed on this 4×6″ glossy postcard.
It took some effort to obtain the perfect type of sword, but it was worth it. Naturally the image of a white dove to represent the Spirit followed immediately. The colors were pulled from the images of the pastors and the sword so the overall gold tones blended well throughout. The background was created with multiple layers of textures and custom brushes to produce enhancements that were perfect from edge to edge.
I really don’t make it a habit to share the “before” product if the client provided one to me (because I usually design a new product or rarely am provided a sample), but this one provides an excellent illustration that is priceless to compare with the professionally designed end result. The card was 4×8″, horizontal, full color on both sides.
Client provided this sample postcard they used before
The client is very well pleased – as am I – with this project. When the perfect images are selected for a project, they seal the concept and make the product perfect.
